Hello everyone.
Thinking about getting a nursery-stock wisteria vine to try and develop. What is the best way to thicken the trunk of a vine? Sacrificial branches or apex? I'm just curious about the vines.
Thanks.

Sacrificial branches is primarily for creating taper, but does help thickening below the branch.
The three ways of achieving fast thickening is universal and not species dependent. Unrestricted growt, unrestricted root space and heavy fertilizing. All three is obviously best.

Sacrificial branches are your best bet. Let a few lower branches grow freely for a couple of years before pruning them back.snake game wrote: Hello everyone.

Ground growing will speed things up.
