Hi guys, this is my first post here. I bought a Chinese elm about a month ago and found these in the soil recently. Not sure if they’re some larvae from a pest or something beneficial. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Beginners often show up with pictures of bugs to get identified here. Most experienced people just relax when they see a few insects on their trees. Insects is a part of nature and live naturally in our trees. Only when one species gets abundant on a tree we worry. Then it is most likelly pests that are living off the tree.
This does not looks like a common pest in bonsai, so proboably not any problem. If you want to know what exact species it is, I suggest to visit an entomology forum. They are the experts on bugs, here is only experts in bonsai. But you may need to find local entomologists. There are not one that can identify all bugs from all over the world.
