Hi all,

I'm interested in trying a trunk fusion. I've heard that Ficus works great, but per the article on Bonsai Empire it works best to start with 50-100 seedlings. I can't find anywhere that sells Ficus Retusa or Ginseng seeds or seedlings to the US (that looks reputable), and I don't have enough plants to get that many cuttings from. I assume no one sells them because Ficus seeds are hard to produce and hard to sprout. I found seeds for Religiosa and other breeds, but they all look like they produce very large leaves that don't reduce much in size. Does anyone have suggestions for species that fuse well and are readily available as seeds/seedlings? Thanks!

Why not do it from cuttings or young nurcery plants? Would save some years growing and jump straight to the fun part.

I have seen some nice salix trunk fusions. They are very easy to propagate by cuttings as well.
