The Taikan-ten is one of Japan's leading Bonsai exhibitions, with an incredibly high level of Bonsai trees on display. It takes place each year in November, in Kyoto.
The Taikan-ten is one of the few traditional shows that features Bonsai in displays, with scrolls and suiseki. But several contemporary displays can be found as well. The sales area is worth a visit as well, scroll down to see what a 160,000 USD Bonsai tree looks like! The best of show is awarded the Prime Minister Award.
