Bonsai is a field qhere everyone hates your success and wants you to fail. People said the same thing about american junipers, pitch pines, scotts pine, huon pine, araucaria angustifolia, araucaria heterophylla. The best bet is to think of a commonly used conifer from the same clade. Try juniper techniques first, if it responds well and there is flurishing growth try pine techniques, if its still happy try maple or ficus technique. Push it. See where it goes. Use seperate branchs for each technique. Does its respond to one better then the others? Does it fail from the top down or bottom up? Ask these questions to the tree itself. Everyone else will just try to make you loose hope.

Usually that are people that don't have good bonsai, like the famous mr. Levitt, who made bonsai out of coconuts.
