I have managed to reduce the huge number of entries down to a shortlist of just 5; 3 landscape/trees-in nature images and 2 bonsai.

I LOVE this tree, fantastic movement in the branches and trunk and exceptional taper in the branches. I would love to be able to replicate this tree as a bonsai and for me it is truly inspirational to my own style of bonsai.

I think this image has everything that is inspiring about Ficus as a species and as bonsai and is captured extremely well with some beautiful photography.

As Hank says, this group of deciduous trees just asks to be lifted from the landscape and into a bonsai pot. The interplay between the various trunks and branches is stunning. A fantastic photograph.
