Lemon Tree Roots and Flowers Issues was created by PC404

Happy Thursday everyone! The new year is flying by, isn't it?
I bought and repotted a small lemon tree nursery stock a few months ago but am worried because it doesn't seem like the root system has grown very much, if at all. What can I do to support and encourage root growth?
Also, we down here in South Texas had a brief cold snap and then warm weather a few weeks ago. The lemon tree took this as the sign to start blooming and now has tiny green lemons on it. I am both amused and worried about this. Is this cause for concern or should I let the tree just do its thing?
Advice would be appreciated.
Have a great day!

I do not know Texas conditions. But up here no trees is growing roots between october and march.

If it was here, I would not worry.

I have found the Lemons are not very hardy so I am guessing that you have it inside, this would explain it flowering in the winter. I find that they do not like being cold, which is why they tend to be grown in greenhouses to keep the temperature higher. They do need good sunlight so I am thinking that you should get them outside as soon as the weather is warm and sunny.

The usual guideline is indoors when outside temps are below 50F/10C.

Citrus are sort of fussy. They should be growing roots when they are growing leaves. If you are getting flowers and new leaves you should be doing fine.
