So like I explained earlier thank you everyone for the replies regarding the wiring. The 2nd part to the question is this new soil that I purchased looks nothing like the soil it come in? Will this bonsai be ok in this granular soil?

I am concerned to how much water to give the bonsai on the back porch? The trunk looks dark brown like it is with moisture, however the rock seems dry. Temperatures have been in the 90's daily for the past week.

I have bee misting daily.

A high content of inorganic granular soil is what most bonsai artists prefere. The percentage of each part in the mix is a result of trial and error and depends on local climate, species, watering and fertilization regimes. There are not one mix that works everywhere with every bonsai artist.

Watering is the same no matter what soil mix. When the surface looks dry, water abundantly with a fine strainer over the whole surface until there is a steady stream coming out of the drainage holes.

I do not remember every thread in detail. But I guess you have a newly purshased tree and need to learn how to grow it before atempting repotting? Spend that time talking to local bonsai hobbyists and find out what they are doing. Buying soil mix to put in storage for a couple of years do not benefit the tree nor your learning.
