Holes in the bonsai soil

Hello to you all,I have a Morten Bay Fig bonsai that I re potted two months ago. Holes about 6mm in diameter have appeared in the soil.Please see picture I would appreciate finding out what is causing this and is it going to damage the bonsai tree?Thank you, Alan

If it was repotted recently it is most likelly that it was just a bad job. There were airpockets left behind and now when watering soil is flushing into those pockets and leave holes on the surface. Just fill the holes up with more soil.

Thank you for your reply. You are right , it was probably a poor job of re potting. The tree seems healthy enough now. I will do as advised. Cheers Alan

I spend a lot of time when repotting poking chopsticks into the soil just to get air pockets out.
