I have a 1-2 yr old Jacaranda tree the has several problems. Hopefully the pictures will tell what's wrong. There is abnormal growth on the branches ( probably scale) and some white bumps, possible insects on the leaves. Some of the larger branches have drooped. Please let me know what you think,

The jacaranda sits in a window with full light. Watering about 1 times a week because it's in a regular pot for right now. Soil is Miracle Grow potting soil. The only other plant near the jacaranda is a Chinese Elm which has no signs of problems.

Hello Cilrah72
The white growths turns later to light brown and looks like cork strips.
This will be observed often if you bring the Jacarada-Tree from outside to inside (maybe from cold into warm) !?
The white growths was produced from the Jacaranda itselfs and will be a stressreaction,
its not dangerous or harmful, many Jacarandaowner has the same problem with a big discussion about that phenomenon.
Hope that will help a little.

That is a severe case of scale, No wonder it is stressed, I would take it outside and wash it off with a hose then squash as many as possible off the trunk, and the spray with a mix of a drop of washing up liquid in 5 litres of water, and hope.

I was thinking scale as well. No own experience with them or with Jacarandas. But really, google scale insects, it looks like the same thing to me.
