Hello,I have this bonsai tree for almost 12 years and it was kept in a shaded place (no direct sun). I am seeing the following symptoms:1) Some of the leaves are turning brown2) Some of the steps are not green3) Do not see green leaves on some of the stemsphotos attachedNot sure what is wrong with this. Before I attempt to treat this I would appreciate some advise.ThanksSarath

Your post does not suggest any wrong doing. We need a lot more information in order to guess a cause for this. When was last repotting done? How do you care for the tree? What is your location and climate? Has any change been done during the last year?

Location: Located in San Francisco Bay Area, California.
Repotting: I bought this tree around 12 years back and not repotted after that. It was healthy and I thought no need to repotting.
Caring: I feed 1-2 spoons of miracle grow. miraclegro.com/en-us/shop/shop-all/mirac...nt-food/1013501.html
Watering: water as needed.
Temp: The temperature typically varies from 45°F to 72°F and is rarely below 39°F or above 83°F
Change: No change

12 years without repotting is proboably your issue.

Initially we put the tree under direct sun light and the leaves were turning black. Hence, we were keeping it in a shaded place with little sun.

It is important to understand that every single leaf adapted to the amount of sun the tree gets. Any sudden increase in sunlight will trigger a stress reaction. Even If the tree is moved from too little light into good light. Making a slow transition is the key. Your problem may be due to keeping it in too little sun for a long time.
