so, I recently receives a Desert Rose with a large caudex in a 6 inch pot-the caudex has no room to grow as it is just as big as the pot. I got it from a Nursery like that and it had very wet soil that it is in.

I know I will have to repot due to size of caudex and no room to grow, but, with the soil that wet how long do I need to wait to do it? Anything else I need to do
for it as well?

I have ne er received one from a Nursery in such wet soil before.

If the soil don't dry up within a day that is serious problem. I would take it out of the pot, remove as much soil as possible without damaging the roots and let the tree dry up totally for a week or two before potting it up again.

So, I got it out of the pot and no problem getting the damp soil off. the plant was dry did not feel wet at all.
I put it in a 7 inch pot with Desert Rose Soil-yep there is Desert rose Soil-you can see it on Amazon. It is made expressly for Desert Roses. The pot has plenty of drainage holes and I fixed it up good. with a screen in the bottom to keep soil in. Then I put some of bonsai Jack's Gritty mix that he has for succulents, bonsais, etc. Works good. Than the Desert Rose Soil. That soil is just right for Desert Roses and is good drainage. Has everything the plant needs.
So, now it is planted and not in the sun-no watering for a week or so.
