Hi guys,

I repotted my ligustrum a few months ago and it grew a lot, but because it's got a curvy trunk most of the branches grew in the wrong places.
Most of the branches grew where the red circle is.
I left those two branches (1 and 2) as I didn't want to remove all of them but they will go in the future.
Will keep number 3 and I was wondering if I could just reshape number 4 or should I remove it as well in the future?

Do you have any advice with it?

Thanks guys!

I think you need to consider more options as well. Just chosing between cut or not cut will not ramify in the future and you may end up cutting away a lot of branches with potential. The other two options is shortening and wiering. I will not suggest wich option is best. I havent seen the tree live and it is not mine.

However for time beeing I would just let it grow wild and recover. Any choises you do will not be executed until spring. So you will have a lot of time to make a decition that supports your future design idea for the tree.
