So far no real problems with pests; did have some white fly brought in on a green house tree, but drown them. For future reference, what is a good general safe pesticide to use on dwarf maples and bonsai maples? I should have some on hand just in case. Not the sort of thing you want to be looking for after you have been infested. Thanks all.

I would guess based on your question that you are in USA? Most people on this forum is in Europe and most of us don't see a need of keeping poison in stock just in case.

One thing that may be good to keep at home is neem oil. A spray once in a wile may keep pests away. But the best is really to keep the tree strong and healthy. Strong trees rarelly gets infected and if they do, they can fight it themselves without poisons that may kill your very valuable local insects.

Hi Yuki - I always give "natural" remedies whenever / wherever possible, that said, had a very stubborn case of ants farming aphids on my acer palmatum and my weeping willow and had to resort to this stuff to finally get rid of them... Readily available at most garden centres here in the UK, or there's always the behemoth that is Amazon...
