It is lichen, no problem at all. My neighbour have seven 50 year old trees I prune for him. They are full of it and has been for at least the last 15 years I have been pruning. If the environment support lichen you will have lichen, no issue for the tree so just relax and enjoy this beautiful little wonder of nature. Symbiosis between fungi and algae, exciting.

Hi,
Thanks a lot, for advice!
I know that for cultivating trees you need to be calm but I feel that the lichen are problem! The branch is dying - drying. I noticed that fact when I take a walk in the forest of pines nearby. All the pines are covered with lichen, especially the lower branches. Of course the "problem" is only the old trees.
Probably I'm wrong but that's my observation...
p.s. All pears trees are not covered with lichen?

Yes, old trees give a better surface for lichen to grow on than young trees.
The dieing of a branch has nothing to do with the lichen. That is another reason.
