Pomegranate bonsai with white foams

HiGot a new Pomegranate bonsai tree as gift. Struggling to make it look right.There are white patches/ foam like substance on the bark. Please help.Kept in a room with South facing window. Please help.Thanks in advance

Does this foam like substance have an insect inside? sounds like Mealy Bug or Woolly Aphid very similar, Methylated spirit on a bud stick will get rid. Also this plant as most plants should be outside.

Bear in mind that tree can't read thermometers, can't tell Fahrenheit from Celsius, and don't have a word for "cold" so they really prefer their natural environment, outside.
You do have to pay attention to individual species and their requirements but by and large they should be as close as possible to the climate where they evolved.
