To get interesting roots, people grow them in very coarse pebbles, forcing big bends i the roots as they grow.
You can plant is in a plastic container that you keep cutting down. Or some build tall boxed from small wooden slats that they remove over time. But as you said, just any way in which the tree slowly raises over the soil level is fine.

So, that is why I gave the correct term and, conveniently, a link, and when OP didn't know that term, I even gave an alternative.

Not exactly.
You need to narrow down your search. "Raised roots" will not really give good results. "Exposed roots" works better, but it will give a lot of not so relevant results. So, add "Bonsai" to it, so the search is: Exposed+roots+bonsai, and probably be the first hit will have what you are looking for.
"Neagari" is a pretty specific term, so it will give even better results. If you don't know that term, you can look that up as well. Look for "Bonsai + Style" and your first hit will be.... er... well, maybe the second one. Oscar, why is Neagari not mentioned on the bonsai styles page??
To answer your earlier question: yeah... I do think you like to argue
